John Soldatos

John Soldatos (http://www.linkedin.com/in/johnsoldatos) holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the NTUA, is a professor and is the head of the IoT Group at Athens Information Technology. He is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow, and was also Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, USA (2007-2010).

He specialises in Industry 4.0 and related technologies (IoT, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence).  He has participated, either in a leadership or technical capacity, in more than 60 IT projects in the areas of industrial production, supply chain, healthcare and energy. He has also played a leading role in attracting millions of euros in grants for funding innovative ideas for various organisations in the areas of IT, industrial production, FinTech, healthcare and digital security.

He is the co-founder of the OpenIoT.eu and Edge4Industry.eu platforms, while he has written more than 180 scientific articles in international journals, books and conference minutes, as well as four books (edited volumes). He regularly posts articles about Industry 4.0 technologies in international e-magazines and blogs, while he often participates in relevant conferences as a speaker.

He has served as Board Member in various organisations, as well as an expert in standardisation and digital strategy committees in Greece and abroad.
