Elena Chouliara

Elena Chouliara has been President and Managing Director of AstraZeneca Greece and Cyprus since December 2016. Through her role, she participated in the national effort to combat the pandemic in Greece and support the national vaccination programme.

She is Vice President of the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies in Greece, responsible for Reimbursement, HTA, Negotiation and Pharmaceutical Expenditure and Board member at the PhARMA Innovation Forum Greece, supporting innovation, development and Greek patients’ access to effective medicines, creating value for both the Greek economy and the Greek society.

Her career in the pharmaceutical industry spans more than 20 years and started at Novo Nordisk, where she held positions of increasing responsibility, at a regional and global level. She joined the AstraZeneca Greece senior leadership team in 2011. Through a series of senior positions, she managed to expand the company’s portfolio in strategic treatment areas with cardiology, diabetes, respiratory and oncology medications.

She holds a degree in Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as an MBA from the ALBA Graduate School.

She was born in Greece, is married and has 2 children.
