The 1st Greek Cluster for tourism and culture

The General Secretariat for Research and Innovation of the Ministry of Development and Investment chose Eurobank and the egg Accelerator to develop and support the 1st Greek cluster in digital technologies in the Tourism and Culture sectors.

This led to the creation of the egg’s Tourism-Culture Cluster which aims at:

  • Modernising the tourism and culture product.
  • Leveraging the country's strong competitive advantage.

In addition, the egg’s Tourism-Culture Cluster enjoys the institutional support of the Greek National Tourism Organisation and the Greek Tourism Confederation, as well as advisory support from Corallia and the Athena Research Centre.

12 businesses and other bodies participating

The Cluster started out with 12 businesses that had already developed and provide integrated added-value solutions and cutting-edge technology products in the tourism and culture sectors. The aim is to include more than 30 companies within the next 2 years.

In addition, the Cluster includes several innovation, research and networking support organisations which are based in Greece and are active in the broader sector of digital tourism technologies and applications.

Out of the 12 participating companies, 8 are innovation companies which have received support from the egg Accelerator:

Participating companies also include Marketing GreeceTamasenco, Toulange and Santikos Collection.

The projects that form part of the Cluster's strategy and contribute to its business goals received €2.8 million in financing, in the context of the General Secretariat programme.
