Digital World

Componous is a Greek deep-tech company developing next-generation Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) optical fiber sensing systems for structural health monitoring and predictive maintenance. Its core product is a complete plug-and-play sensing kit, combining a proprietary optoelectronic interrogator, FBG sensors and intelligent software with on-edge AI/ML capabilities, delivering state-of-the-art sensing performance at 5 to 15 times lower cost than comparable systems on the market.

Founded as a spinoff of B&T Composites SA, Componous develops its entire product stack in-house, from FBG sensor fabrication to AI model development, ensuring full quality control and competitive pricing. Its platform has been validated in real operational conditions through deployments with Naval Group and Star Bulk Carriers, and has demonstrated potential across naval, industrial, infrastructure, energy and medical applications.

Componous holds 2 granted patents in FBG interrogation architecture and is a JEC Startup Booster 2024 finalist and Smart Manufacturing Awards 2025 Gold Award recipient.
