Elena Chouliara

Elena Chouliara was born in Athens. She holds a degree in Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the ALBA Graduate School.

Her career in the pharmaceutical industry spans more than 20 years and started at Novo Nordisk where she held positions of increasing responsibility, at regional and global level. She joined AstraZeneca Greece Senior Leadership team in 2011 and held senior commercial positions with responsibility in the strategic therapeutic areas of Cardiology, Diabetes, Respiratory and Oncology. She was appointed President and Managing Director of AstraZeneca Greece & Cyprus in December 2016. Through her role, she participated in the national effort of dealing with the pandemic in Greece and supporting the national vaccination program.

She is Vice-President of the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies in Greece, responsible for Reimbursement, HTA, Negotiation and Pharmaceutical Expenditure and Μember of the Board of Directors of PhARMA Innovation Forum Greece, supporting innovation, development and Greek patients’ access to effective medicines, creating value for both the Greek economy and the Greek society.

Elena is married and has two children.
