OLONPHOS

OLONPHOS is a startup devoted to the exploitation of advanced photonic nanotechnology devices developed at the University of Patras, Greece. It is established with the starting point of the ultra-sensitive sensor PHOX, capable of detecting toxic agents with high selectivity at extremely low concentration levels of the order of ppq (1:10-15). PHOX simplifies the optical interrogation of complex physical and chemical interactions and represents a new category of adaptable, user-friendly and low-cost sensors. It exhibits an inherent ability to detect and quantitatively analyze a wide range of hazardous substances, such as organic toxins, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals and pathogens, thus promising critical applications in the sectors of primary production in agricultural and animal farming, food and beverage industry, the control of water resources, soil and air quality, as well as the health sector. Simultaneously it offers an integral solution for the determination of trends of toxicity diffusion and accumulation, thus enabling early warning of hazards for the protection of humanity and the planet.
